Heh. We were just thinking about "H" as it applies to all of Granola's 30-something grad students who are not self-sufficient because they're taking out student loans to get through their education.

Plus, if Plato's right to say that we can think of the state as the individual writ large, maybe nobody in this country should be having sex by these standards because the United States has been propping up its economic activity with loans for years.

These standards are so unrealistic that they'd be hilarious if so many people weren't suffering so much because of them...so that makes them horrible, not hilarious.

My fiance and I whole-heartedly agree with this article. Schools, churches and other organizations need to think about what they are teaching. We are humans, we should not be tied down with an archaic and dogmatic belief system which no one, even people of great influence can live by. Anyone who claims these antique trappings for their own belief system are the ones who are going to perpetuate the teen pregnancies and ignorance of our friends, family and society.
