Very well written article. However, the Producers of Swingtown have deftly positioned themselves at the junction of three roads. Should the conservatives raise a major stink, they can emphasize the damage that swinging does to the children through their association of young love and teacher-student relations with parent neglect due to swinging. Should the conservatives remain relatively quiet, they can add more sex scenes to spice it up. Should the conservatives be moderately problematic, they can inject relationship problems into the marriages of everyone swinging.

So far, Swingtown has only shown the false premise that swinging parents do not focus on or communicate sufficiently with their children. This can be a dangerous perspective to give the textiles. We should be very careful of Swingtown and where it takes this idea. It could become the neo-conservatives' new whip!

Great article!

We are glad they have not gotten into steamy sex scenes or touched on the bisexuality in lifestyle women. The whole concept of swinging freaks vanillas out as it is and many conservative groups are trying to get their local CBS stations to pre-empt the show. We prefer the soft approach of allowing the vanilla community a look inside our world without shocking their boots off. My sister has watched every episode and it is her favorite show on TV. She finally feels as if she is 'getting it' about my lifestyle. That there are solid marriages, great friendships and the sex really is just extra icing on our cupcake of life.

We've enjoyed the show examining the necessity of honesty, communication etc between couples and love how it is all portrayed. It is well done and judging from spoiler sites the show is going to examine other issues within the lifestyle in the coming weeks that should be very interesting.

Wow, terrific write-up! Like so many other swingers, we have been pleasantly surprised by the accurate and well toned representation of the lifestyle that CBS has achieved (sex positive, enhanced communication, happier people).
