Our Couple of the Month was born about twelve-hundred miles apart, Esther in Nicaragua and Tony in New Orleans. Growing up, Tony loved and excelled at sports such as wrestling, baseball, football and even BMX racing... mostly because it impressed the girls. Tony was definitely a lover, not a fighter. Esther grew up dealing with five younger brothers. Understandably she was a fighter, not a lover and would often find herself in detention. While she was popular with boys, she was raised in a very religious and conservative family. Nearly everything she did (or wanted to do) was considered a sin by her mother. At the age of nine, Esther's family movied to Miami.

Tony moved to Los Angeles for college and eventually became an optician. He even opened up his own optical store. Meanwhile, Esther had been taking full advantage of her newfound freedom growing up in Miami. The wild-child inside of her came out with a vengeance. She partied hard in the Miami scene, doing just about everything that her poor mother wouldn't approve of.

Eventually, Esther got exhausted by the constant parties in Miami. So at 19 she decided to move somewhere less wild... Los Angeles. While this may not sound like much of a step down on the party scale, anyone who has spent time in Miami will tell you, it is! Besides, there are few other places in the country where she could still have a beach nearby and year round warm weather.

In the Summer of 89, Tony was rollerblading through Hermosa Beach, when he stopped to use a pay phone to return a message he'd received on his pager. As he talked on the phone he was unaware that several yards away, he had caught the attention of a hottie wearing short shorts and a bikini top. Esther, was sharing a pitcher of beer with her roommate on the patio of beachside bar. She was quick to point out Tony to her friend, noting what a nice chest and ass he had. As coincidence would have it, her roommate recognized Tony as her optician!

Before Esther could say another word, her friend had run up to Tony and invited him to join them for a drink... or fifty. Tony was stunned be randomly invited to drinks with two beautiful strangers, but he wasn't going to question it. He was feeling pretty shy and quiet, especially compared to these two very boisterous girls from Latin America and Brooklyn! But Esther thought he was cute, and she really liked his smile. Tony began to loosen up as they drank and talked and laughed and drank and flirted and drank. They bar-hopped all day together, the girls picking Tony's brain for all the best party spots in the area.
